These knives have a solid steel butt cap (pommel) attached via a thick steel pin, and all blades are put through a three-stage heat treat process, first heated, then "Cryogenic Quenching" (freezing to -120° F), then heat tempered. Finally, each constructed knife is subject to a multi-step inspection before being released to shipping.
