KA-BAR knives are some of the highest quality and best loved knives in the world. Created by experienced and talented craftspeople with precision and skill, each knife is corrosion resistant, strong, out-of-the-box razor sharp and exceptionally good at holding an edge. These knives have a solid steel butt cap (pommel) attached via a thick steel pin, and all blades are put through a three-stage heat treat process, first heated, then "Cryogenic Quenching" (freezing to -120° F), then heat tempered. Finally, each constructed knife is subject to a multi-step inspection before being released to shipping.
Designed as a fighting knife for the USMC during WWII, then adopted by not only the USMC, but also the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard, and Underwater Demolition Teams. They also feature:
