The ACU (Army Combat Uniform) uses the military Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), which blends foliage green, desert sand, and slate gray, which becomes darker or lighter depending on exposure to sunlight to work effectively in desert, woodland, and urban environments. The pattern design is based on research into Dual Texture (Dual-Tex) Camouflage, and the whole uniform is designed to work with the Improved Outer Tactical Vest Body Armor--all pockets can be easily accessed, the collar can be worn up, and the front zipper features Velcro tabs to remain flat to prevent snags.

ACU Uniforms are constructed to GL/PD 07-14 Mil-Spec with Defender™ M 50%/50% Cotton/Polyester flame-resistant combat fabric which exceeds ASTM D 6413-99 Flame Resistant Standards. The coat self-extinguishes and will not melt or drop. Also contains Lenzign FR®, which absorbs and evaporates perspiration faster for maximum comfort and to prevent corrosion of object stored in pockets. Resistant to wear, tear, and fading.

CARE: Do not ever starch an ACU uniform, nor expose it to any dry-cleaning or steam-cleaing processes, nor use detergents with "optical brighteners", as this may cause discoloration and enhance the IR signature. Machine wash cold with mild detergent, tumble dry low.
